UNESCO Highlights Growth of Global STEM Education Initiatives Powered by Digital Innovation
UNESCO is drawing international attention to the rapid expansion of global STEM education initiatives driven by digital tools and technology.
In 2025, projects such as “Revitalising STEM Education to Equip Next Generations with STEM Competency,” supported by partners like Huawei, have rolled out innovative digital solutions across Europe, focusing on closing the digital and gender gap in STEM.
These efforts include the creation of platforms for knowledge sharing and regional alliances, and integrating AI and digital learning frameworks that foster inclusive, lifelong learning opportunities for learners and educators.
On International Day for Digital Learning, UNESCO brought together leaders from 114 countries, sharing strategies to leverage technology—even in low-resource contexts—and showcasing inspiring stories that demonstrate the transformative power of digital connectivity in bridging equity gaps in STEM.
UNESCO’s ongoing work with AI, digital skilling, and open educational resources is helping millions build future-ready skills, laying the groundwork for universal access to quality STEM education by 2030.
