Career & Technical Education Department Launches STEM Summer Program for Aspiring Engineers
The School District of Manatee County’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) department has unveiled an invigorating two‑week STEM summer camp at King Middle School and Haile Middle School. Aimed at middle school students with a passion for robotics, coding, and engineering, the program offers hands-on experiences in designing, building, and programming robots. Students also navigate the engineering design process, engaging their creativity and problem‑solving skills.
Guided by district educators and showcased by Manatee Schools Television, participants dive deep into STEM activities that reinforce core concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through collaborative teamwork and real‑world challenges, campers gain practical insights into engineering disciplines, developing both technical knowledge and critical soft skills like communication and resilience.
By hosting the STEM summer camp, the CTE department aims to spark early interest in engineering careers and strengthen STEM pathways within the region. With engaging, experiential learning environments like this, the district supports academic growth and inspires future innovators, helping young students explore their potential and consider STEM fields for their educational and professional futures.
