An Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) in Chandigarh is a state-of-the-art innovation space designed to nurture young minds and foster creativity in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Funded by the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), the lab provides students with access to advanced tools like robotics kits, 3D printers, and electronics, encouraging hands-on learning and problem-solving. The aim is to spark innovation and critical thinking, empowering students to become the next generation of leaders and innovators.
Any Govt./Private school which operates from class 6th to12th and with valid U-DISE code is eligible to apply for setting up ATL.
An ATL lab enhances student learning by promoting practical project-based learning in areas, such as robotics, electronics, and coding. It fosters problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity in students, which are essential for the future.
The application is to be submitted online by the schools on the ATL-Application Portal. Link for the same is available at AIM website at the time of application submission.
Any school with a minimum area of 1,500 sq.ft (in all-weather area) and1,000sq.ft.(in hilly/Himalayan and island states, UTs) with basic facilities such as Computer Lab with internet, library and play ground and regular attendance of the staff and students are eligible to apply.
