What is YSRP?

Real research. Real publication.
Real credential.

Most students spend years learning what others discovered. YSRP gives them the mentorship and structure to discover something original for themselves.

The Young Scholars Research Programme is a mentor-led academic journey for students in Grades 6 to 12. It helps them choose a meaningful topic, review ideas, frame a research question, and develop work that reflects real academic thinking. Students gain research experience, stronger skills, and work they can discuss with confidence.

This is not a school project. It is a guided research experience designed to help students think deeply, work independently, and communicate ideas clearly. Each learner is matched with a dedicated Subject Matter Expert who guides the process step by step.

YSRP supports experimental, analytical, survey-based, literature-led, design-based, and prototype-driven research. That flexibility helps students explore topics that match their interests, strengths, and goals.

Two tracks — one standard of excellence

Track One

Research Track

Students pick a topic, conduct a literature review, develop a hypothesis, write a full academic paper, and get it published with a DOI in a peer-reviewed international journal.

Track Two

Prototype & Patent Track

Students design and build a working prototype, document the process in a research format, and file for a patent — guided from ideation to submission. No other programme in India offers this.

WHO IS IT FOR?

HOW IT WORKS

Understanding the Student First — Then Research Begins

Before any idea is discussed, we understand who your child is. Every research direction emerges from the student — not from a menu of options.

How the programme works

Eight steps, one published paper.

EVERY IDEA IS TESTED AGAINST

The 3 Pillars of Idea Brainstorming

We don’t hand students a list of project ideas to choose from. Every research direction is generated and stress-tested with the student and their Subject Matter Expert (SME) — and must pass all 3 pillars before it is finalised. This protects the quality, originality, and publishability of the final paper.

🎯

Impact

Does the research question address a real, meaningful problem worth studying?

⚖️

Feasibility

Can it realistically be executed, measured, and completed within the programme timeline?

💡

Innovativeness

Does it bring an original angle rather than repeating existing published work?

WHAT STUDENTS GET

What Your Child Walks Away With

YSRP is not a participation certificate programme. Every student who completes the programme receives tangible, lifelong academic credentials.

📄

Published Research Paper

Students work with a domain-expert mentor to develop an original research paper ready for submission to credible journals and publication platforms.

🏅

YSRP Certificate

Every successful student receives an official digital certificate from YSRP / Makers’ Muse as proof of completion and academic achievement.

📝

Letter of Recommendation

Students may receive a subject-specific letter of recommendation from their assigned mentor/Subject Matter Expert, adding strong value to college applications.

🔬

Research and Academic Skills

Students build literature review, research methodology, critical thinking, academic writing, and citation skills that last beyond the program.

🎓

College Admissions Advantage

A published research paper helps students stand out in university admissions, scholarship applications, and competitive academic programs.

💡

Patent Support for Prototype Projects

Patent filing support is available as a paid add-on for eligible prototype-based projects. This optional service helps students prepare the documentation and next steps required for patent-related work.

WHAT THEY SAY

Students & Parents Speak

I never thought I could write a research paper in Grade 10. My mentor made it feel like a conversation, not a task. Seeing my name on a published journal with a DOI was the proudest moment of my school life.

As a parent I was sceptical — could a 15-year-old really write a publishable paper? The YSRP team structured it so well that my daughter was excited every session. The DOI publication is something she'll carry for the rest of her academic life.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

No. YSRP is designed from the ground up for school students with zero prior research experience. The programme begins with the basics — what research is, how to choose a topic — and builds progressively throughout the programme.

All boards — CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE, and State Boards. The programme is completely board-agnostic. If your child is in Grade 6 to 12, they are eligible. No prior research experience is needed to begin.

Typically 1 session per week (60–90 minutes), scheduled flexibly around school hours and exam calendars. Sessions are conducted via Google Meet or Zoom.

Our mentor and Programme Manager continue to support resubmission to another appropriate journal. YSRP’s commitment is to publication — not just submission. Your fee includes this continued support.

Absolutely. A DOI-published paper is a credible, verifiable, globally accepted academic credential. It can be referenced in your child’s Statement of Purpose, CV, scholarship applications, and activity lists for both Indian and international universities.

A school project stays in the classroom. A science fair exhibit lasts a weekend. A YSRP paper gets a DOI, is indexed in an international academic database, and is publicly accessible and citable worldwide — permanently. It is a real academic publication, not a school exercise.

Biology, Environmental Science, AI/ML, Computer Science, Psychology, Economics & Commerce, Chemistry, Social Science, Engineering & Technology, Medicine & Public Health, Mathematics & Statistics, and History & Humanities. A mentor is matched to the student’s chosen domain.

Yes. We offer school partnership pricing for groups of 5 or more students. Write to info@makersmuse.in with your school name and student count and we’ll share the institutional pricing details.
