Rajasthan Primary Curriculum Overhaul

Rajasthan introduces cultural and heritage content in primarytextbooks—stories of warriors, local festivals, and environmental lessons

Heritage Meets Education

From July 1, Rajasthan will roll out a revamped curriculum for classes 15 under NEP 2020, blending cultural, historical, and environmental themes. These textbooks will feature national heroes like Maharana Pratap and Subhash Chandra Bose, alongside lessons on the Chandrayaan mission and traditions like the Maha Kumbh.

Practical, Multilingual Approach

Beyond stories, students will engage in activitybased modules learning about municipal bodies, road safety, and ecological sacrifice like the Khejarli Balidan. The textbooks will use local languages, supplemented with dialect dictionaries, aiming at immersive learning

Intent and Impact

Officials highlight this as a move to make education “childfriendly” and relevant. Featuring mothertongue instruction and handson content seeks to deepen students’
connection to their roots and modern India’s achievements
