CBSE Invites Schools to Host NIOS Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a directive to its affiliated schools, urging them to support the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) by hosting the upcoming public examinations scheduled for October–November 2025. The notification was sent to school principals and heads, encouraging them to volunteer as examination centres via the registration portal on the NIOS official website.

Inclusive Education in Focus

NIOS, under the Ministry of Education, is the largest open schooling system in India, offering academic and vocational courses to students unable to participate in regular schooling. By collaborating with CBSE-affiliated institutions, NIOS aims to provide equitable and accessible education, particularly for learners from underprivileged or non-traditional backgrounds.

Schools Urged to Register Now

CBSE has emphasised that the success of the October–November exam cycle relies heavily on the cooperation of CBSE schools, which can offer vital infrastructure and administrative support. Interested schools are requested to submit their willingness to function as exam centres promptly via the “Register Now” option under the Examination Centre section of the NIOS website.
