CBSE to begin registration process for children with disabilities from Sept 9.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced a dedicated registration process for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) appearing in the Class 10 and 12 board examinations 2026. This move marks a significant stride towards inclusivity and accessibility in Indian education, ensuring that students with disabilities have early and seamless access to the accommodations they deserve during high-stakes exams.

From September 9, 2025, affiliated schools across India are required to log into the Pariksha Sangam portal and register all eligible CWSN students by September 22, 2025. Schools must identify these students in the List of Candidates (LOC), upload supporting medical or disability certificates, and select the exam facilities each student is entitled to—such as extra time, scribes, or special seating arrangements. Once submitted, these accommodations will be automatically reflected on the students’ admit cards, ensuring exam centres are fully prepared in advance for each child’s needs.

CBSE has rolled out a special web portal and released clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guide schools step-by-step through the registration and documentation process. By integrating registration for CWSN within mainstream candidate workflows, the board aims to ensure there are no administrative hurdles or last-minute surprises for students requiring additional support.

This initiative is part of CBSE’s ongoing commitment to modernise and humanise best online learning platforms educational processes—joining reforms like digital dashboards, transparent admissions, and open-book assessments. For families and students, it means a smoother, fairer exam experience and peace of mind knowing that individual needs will be acknowledged and met at every exam centre.

Ultimately, this step is a powerful signal that Indian education is becoming more empathetic, data-driven, and inclusive—empowering every learner to reach their full potential, no matter their challenges.
