SCHOOL INNOVATION INFRASTRUCTURE

The Innovation Pod

A Select Innovation Programme for Schools with STEM — Unlocking Real Outcomes

Your school already has STEM — labs, ATLs, equipment and dedicated teachers. What’s missing is the structured system that converts knowledge and curiosity into real projects, competition wins, research and innovation. The Innovation Pod is that system.

THE GAP

You provide the school. We build the innovation layer.

Schools invest in STEM infrastructure — labs, ATLs, equipment. Yet most students graduate without ever building something original, competing nationally, or producing evidence-based research.

WHAT A POD IS

01
Max 12 students per school

A highly selective cohort built for focused learning and meaningful outcomes.

02
Grade 6 onwards

Students are selected through an Innovation Challenge designed to identify makers.

03
Weekly on-campus visits

A dedicated Makers’ Muse mentor works directly with students throughout the journey.

04
100+ hours of mentorship

Structured guidance across research, prototyping, problem-solving and project development.

05
Built within school hours

The programme integrates into the school day with zero disruption to the timetable.

06
3 challenge tracks.
1 defended capstone.

Students take an idea from challenge to execution and defend their final innovation.

The cycle

Four stages, run again and again.

The Pod doesn’t teach a course and finish. It runs the same loop every term, and students get better at it each time round. By the third cycle they’re scoping their own problems without being handed one.

01
FIND
A problem worth solving
02
BUILD
Prototype it fast
03
TEST
With real users, not a rubric
04

How Students Are Selected

  • We run a 90-minute Innovation Challenge for 100–200 students — no fee, no preparation
  • Students are observed on what they do, not their marks
  • Top performers are shortlisted — max 12 selected per Pod
  • Grade 6 and above — multi-grade cohorts encouraged

The Three-Track Programme Year

ONE YEAR. THREE TERMS. ONE CAPSTONE.

Term 1
The Builder
Daily Life Problem Solver
Observe → Identify → Build → Test
Students explore real problems around them — at home, school, or neighbourhood. They choose one, research it, and build something that addresses it.
Output: Working prototype + Build log + Presentation
Term 2
The Competitor
Competition Ready
Prepare → Compete → Reflect → Improve
Students are guided and trained to participate in 5 national and international STEM competitions annually. Focus on competition strategy, presentation and iteration.
Output: Competition entry + Portfolio update + Skill report
Term 3
The Innovator
Research & Innovation Track
Research → Innovate → Build → Defend
Students pursue an original innovation project along one of three tracks: research publication, patent filing, or entrepreneurial product development.
Output: Capstone project + Track output + Public defence

What Students Complete

  • A working capstone prototype they built and can operate
  • A research report with method, data, analysis and limitations
  • A competition portfolio with entries across 5 national & international events
  • A research / patent / product track output depending on path chosen
  • A build log recording every iteration — including the failures
  • A digital Innovation Portfolio with a shareable link
  • An Innovation Skill Report across eight capabilities
  • A recorded capstone defence at School Innovation Day

Who Provides What

The School Provides
Space, student access, hardware, parent communication and institutional support.
Makers’ Muse Provides
Mentor visits, innovation curriculum, competition coaching, research framework, assessment, portfolio, Innovation Day and access to advanced pathways.
No new department. No new hiring. No idle lab.

The pathway

THE POD IS WHERE IT STARTS, NOT WHERE IT STOPS.

Students who outgrow build cycles need somewhere to go next. The Pod feeds directly into structured research, so your strongest students aren’t capped by what the room can hold.
