Central Board of Secondary Education Announces Three-Phase LOC Schedule for Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education has officially released an important notification regarding the conduct of the second Class 10 Board Examination for the academic year 2026. As part of this update, the Board has introduced a structured three-phase process for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC), aiming to streamline exam planning and ensure better coordination with affiliated schools.

According to the notice published on the official CBSE website, the LOC submission will be carried out in three clearly defined stages. The first phase will focus solely on data entry, where schools are required to upload student details without any payment of examination fees. This initial step is designed to help the Board estimate the number of candidates who are likely to appear for the second board examination. By gathering this preliminary data, CBSE will be able to efficiently plan logistics such as exam centers, staffing, and resource allocation.

The second and third phases will provide greater flexibility to schools and students. During these stages, institutions will have the opportunity to make necessary changes to the LOC. This includes adding new candidates, removing existing ones, or modifying subject selections based on student requirements. Unlike the first phase, these stages will involve the payment of the prescribed examination fees, which is mandatory to confirm and finalise the candidature.

CBSE has emphasised that the entire LOC submission process will be conducted through the respective schools where students originally appeared for their main board examinations. This ensures a centralised and verified system, reducing the chances of discrepancies or unauthorised entries.

This move reflects CBSE’s continued efforts to make examination processes more transparent, organised, and student-friendly. The introduction of a multi-phase LOC system not only allows better planning for the Board but also gives students and schools adequate time to review and update their information before final submission.

With the second board examination becoming an increasingly important opportunity for students to improve their scores, this structured approach is expected to bring clarity and efficiency to the process. Schools and students are advised to stay updated through official CBSE channels and adhere to the deadlines for each phase to avoid any last-minute issues.
