CBSE launches integrated payment system for Class 12 practical exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a transformative Integrated Payment System (IPS) to manage payments relating to Class 12 practical examinations for the academic year 2024-25. This new online platform is designed to streamline remuneration and other exam-related expenses by ensuring timely, transparent, and error-free transactions for examiners, observers, and other functionaries involved in practical exams.
Under the IPS, all payments will be processed exclusively via the digital portal, requiring schools to carefully enter and verify the bank account details of every examiner and observer linked with the practical exams. CBSE mandates that principals take personal responsibility for the accuracy of this data. Any errors leading to payments going to incorrect accounts will be the liability of the respective school, and the erroneously paid amounts will be recovered from them. This measure underscores CBSE’s commitment to heightened accountability and operational efficiency in exam management.
In addition to improving payment processes, CBSE has also launched a dedicated portal catering to Children with Special Needs (CWSN), aiming to facilitate ease of access to relaxations and exemptions during exams. Schools can upload required documents and student information on this portal, further reinforcing inclusion and support within the exam ecosystem.
The rollout of the IPS marks a significant step in CBSE’s schools’ broader digital transformation agenda, reducing manual errors, expediting payments, and promoting transparency. Schools and principals are urged to promptly complete the required data submissions on the IPS portal to ensure a smooth and hassle-free practical exam season.
For students, educators, and administrators, the Integrated Payment System is a welcome innovation that promises improved reliability and trust in the critical processes surrounding Class 12 practical examinations.
This advancement signals CBSE’s continuing efforts to modernise India’s educational governance, keeping pace with global trends in digital education management.
